Topic: HOW TO PERFORM A PERSONAL AUDIT USING THE 4 P MODEL.
Text: 2 Cor. 13:5, 1 Cor. 10:12
Every reasonable organization performs audits regularly. The reason is to ensure that the entity being audited is functioning appropriately for enhanced effectiveness .The general definition of an audit is an evaluation of a person, organization, system, process, enterprise, project or product. The same way, God also demands that we carry out personal audits. If you don’t take out time regularly to do this, you will definitely be full of regrets.
In 2 Cor. 13:5 Paul talking to Christians asked them to examine themselves to ensure they are still in the faith. They were going to church and all but Paul insisted that in spite of all the ‘Christian activity’ a person does, one should ensure one performs an audit – 1 Cor. 10: 12.
The pastors in Matt. 7: 22 failed to do this and that’s why they ended up in hell in spite of miracles they performed in Jesus name.
Let’s look at how to perform an audit using the 4p model.
(1) Purpose: how effective have you being in following Gods purpose for your life? Are you doing what you were called and equipped by God for? Or are you doing just what you want? – Heb. 12: 1.
(2) Principle: purpose is important but it is not more important than principles. Are you actually living by Gods principles or do you tell lies, cheat, gossip etc.? – 2 Tim. 2:19
(3) Passion: what is the passion behind the things you do? In other words, what are your motives? What’s your driving force? Is it fame, self-glorification, or Christ glorification? – Pro 16: 2, Phil. 1:15 – 17.
(4) Person: do I have an on-going intimate fellowship with the Person of God or am I just keeping up appearances?
I encourage you to take out time to perform an audit and ask God to help you make adjustments where necessary.
God Bless You
